Tonight in live music; Rae Sremmurd & Lil Yahcty at Jannus, Zombii & more

Desorden Publico cancelled their show tonight

Punk fans hoping to see some South American latin ska have good reason to be bummed since the Desorden Publico show was cancelled. Those folks could go see a different kind of import (Zombii from Connecticut, who are playing The Bends) or switch it up completely by peeping the action at Jannus.

More information on all that is available below. See you out there!

Rae Sremmurd w/ Lil Yachty Just so it’s loud and clear for the readers unfamiliar with the band, Rae Sremmurd is “drummers ear” spelled backwards. It’s also a big pain in the auto-correct neck, but that’s about where the discomfort stops when it comes to this Tupelo, Mississippi band of brothers . Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown and sibling Aaquil (“Slim Jxmmi” for the connected set) completely came out of almost nowhere on a catchy May 2014 single “No Flex Zone,” which came accompanied by a video featuring a cameo from Mike Epps. The brothers — who arrive supporting a brand new album, Sremmlife 2 — know how to party rock and keep the energy way up in their live shows. A brand new, Gucci Mane-featuring, video for “Black Beatles” tries to translate that experience to the screen. There is an Abbey Road homage in the clip, and while we’re not sure how Paul, John, Ringo and George would feel about Swae Lee and Mr. Jxmmi using their band’s name like that, there is plenty of pillowy smoke puffs and alcohol in the video to suggest that Rae Sremmurd and The Fab Four could’ve at least partied with each other. Watch Yachty's new video here. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO
