Rod Wave is a lot of fun to follow on Instagram. A few weeks ago, the 19-year-old St. Petersburg rapper bought a family member a new car and shared the event to his story. Over the last 24 hours he’s been teasing a new video and the recent release of his latest mixtape Hunger Games 3.

Lately he’s been house hunting in Atlanta, and Wave’s booking agent told CL that his client has found a home up there, too. We’re looking forward to watching the young man continue to rise (and unabashedly rep for St. Petersburg), but local fans still not in the know will get a chance to see the passion in real life when Wave plays Wild 94.1-FM’s annual Spring Break concert, Wild Splash, on March 2.

Atlanta-based Drake collaborator Lil Baby (“Yes Indeed") and South Florida talent Danileigh are also on a bill that still needs to be fleshed out. Tickets start at $35, and more information is available via wild941.com.

Look below to watch a XXL freestyle where Wave laments the violence he’s seen in his lifetime.
