Rock the Park w/The Holy Terror/King of Denmark/Courtney Plummer It’s finally time for the Rock the Park faithful to get a dose of the strange, beautiful trip that is The Holy Terror. John Nowicki’s freak-folk and country project is headlining this free outdoor concert, which means that a more normcore audience is going to get injected with songs about a myriad of offbeat topics like drug addled rednecks. It’s still four chords and the truth, however, so that should go over well at this Curtis Hixon Park gig where Tampa rock band King of Denmark and songwriter Courtney Plummer play support. More information is available here.

Happy Fits w/Early Eyes/The Young Something/Taverns Fans of underground, traveling pop and rock acts have a tough choice on Friday (Nanami Ozone is at The Bends in St. Petersburg), but the Blue Note calls the loudest thanks to the Happy Fits who roll in from the Big Apple toting an infectious and high-energy brand of indie-folk that’s beyond suitable for fans of other rising Americana fellas like Parker Millsap and the Ruen Brothers. Listen to the Happy Fits’ 2019 album, Concentrate, then check out a calendar of DIY and underground concerts below. More information on the Blue Note show is available here.
