Sarasota's Good Graeff announce a new album, tour with Mates of State, and headline a Crowbar date

Lots happening for the twin sisters-led outfit; watch video for new single "I Want That" here.

We love it when an Bay area (ish) act starts to make a national name for itself. In this latest case, it's a CL favorite, Good Graeff, the Sarasota-bred ensemble led by dynamic twin sisters Brooke and Brittany Graeff, the former on honeyed lead vocals and guitar, the latter on cello, dulcet backing harmonies and occasional ukulele, their sound bright, mesmerizing, infectious indie pop propelled by rock power and doused in classy chamber hues. And they'll be spreading it around the country this summer, not to mention showcasing it on a brand new recording.

Though the duo is from Sarasota, they only really started making music together while overseas teaching English in Vietnam (excluding their win of a high school "Battle of The Bands" competition six years prior to that). Upon their return to  the area, Good Graeff buckled down and spent the next several years writing music, playing the local scene, and touring relentlessly enough to have drummed up an impressive following both in Florida and on a more national scale with performances at SXSW, Summer Camp, Savannah Stopover, Gasparilla Music Fest and Coral Skies, and warming the stage for for St. Paul and the Broken Bones and Shakey Graves, among others.

Good Graeff will be touring with Mates of State and releasing a new EP this summer. Good Job Go is due out July 7; the local album release party takes place on Fri., July 17, at Crowbar in Ybor City; Supros and Hail Dale open. Ticket price TBA. Click here for more info.
