Scottish rock mainstay We Were Promised Jetpacks (pictured) is crossing the Atlantic Ocean to embark on another U.S. tour, with Southeast support from Philly’s alternative sweetheart Slaughter Beach, Dog (which consists of two former members of pop-punk leader Modern Baseball.) Although WWPJ’s last album, The More I Sleep the Less I Dream, was released two years ago, the catchy emo riffs from leading singles “Hanging In” and “The More I Sleep the Less I Dream” still feel just as fresh and poignant as they did in 2018.

Tampa post-punkers Hi-Beam kicks off Sunday night alt-rock gig.

We Were Promised Jetpacks w/Hi-Beam. Sun. Feb. 16, 7 p.m. $17-$40. Orpheum, Ybor City. eventbrite.com
