A Karaoke bar isn’t the first place you expect to see underground bass music, but it’s 2021 and the tailend of a once-in-a-century pandemic, so get on board.
Denver producer Bankaji (pictured) developed their sound in their grandma’s basement, says they grew up on “psychedelic substances and reruns of 90’s kid shows” and promises to replicate “your most favored fever dreams into musical form.”
Sounds like a wonky good time, but make sure to bring your mask and keep it on when not seated and actively eating or drinking because the venue says it’s following all CDC guidelines.
Bankaji w/Old Gregg/Joey Paranoia/Bwoke/Kognitive. Friday, April 9, 9 p.m. $10-$20. Tampa Karaoke VIP, Tampa. eventbrite.ca
