For some reason, Foxing’s 2018 album, Nearer My God, flew under the radar, but the Chris Walla-produced effort deserves your attention since it finds the St. Louis band completely graduating for the emo and post-rock labels that defined it by turning in a sprawling, ambitious and audacious third LP the wipes the sonic palette clean for whatever comes next. The band supports Nearer at this intimate Crowbar gig where Minneapolis outfit Now, Now plays songs from its own 2018 album, Saved.
