Contrary to popular belief, Sting is so much more than the guy who fronted The Police. His composition, musical abilities, and usage of multiple genres truly put him on the same level as Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson. For God's sake, he did an entire Renaissance-themed album, Songs from the Labyrinth in 2006.
The 70-year old performer—who just sold his songwriting catalog for $300 million—has announced a few new dates on his long-running “My Songs” tour, and one of those dates will be at Tampa’s Hard Rock Event Center on May 21. Joining Sting will be his son, Joe Sumner, who plays bass in rock group Fiction Plane.
Tickets to see Sting at the Hard Rock Event Center in Tampa on May 21 go on sale this Friday, Feb. 18 and start at a whopping $250. At the very least, he hardly ever comes around here—the most recent time being for a Florida Orchestra gala in 2017.
