Luxury Mane/Hotel Life When it comes to Bay area rock and roll, 2018 belonged to Billy Summer. After being hit with a cancer diagnosis that left him in shock and total disbelief, the prolific songwriter went on an absolute tear, impulsively releasing unfinished Luxury Mane album called The Secret Empire of Florida UK in June before backing his friend Captain Joe Harley on a big-country meets roots-rock album (All That Glitters, released in October) under the Hotel Life moniker. Summer then sealed off the year by dropping off the updated LuxMane LP, now titled Domestic Bliss, on December 12. The sounds of re-birth and after-birth are shimmery, baby, and Summer has never sounded better.
