Tampa Bay live live music Sunday with Max Norton, Donna the Buffalo and more

Shawn Kyle's in the mix, so we're hoping for Beauvilles tunes.

✔️ Donna the Buffalo w/Western Centuries Sure as the dumb ball will drop in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, Donna the Buffalo will be at Skipper’s for its year-end two-night stand. This warm-up to the ultra-posi New York jam-rock band’s annual NYE show is extra special in 2018 since it comes on the heels of the release of the group’s new album, Dance In the Street. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa) INFO

Sean Patrick Mcinerney w/Dee Dee Mao/Two Dollar Pistol/Will Brack/Whiskey Fish String Band/Jillian Holzbauer/Jim Watson/The Surfin’ Dead/Canvas Kid/Swamp Rats/Tail Light Rebellion/Sketchie The penultimate show at Fubar (closing after New Year’s Eve, just in case this is the first time you’re reading our newspaper) finds a dozen bands staging 11 hours of music for a suggested donation of $5-$10. We’ll see how much booze is left for Monday after this rager. (Fubar, St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️ Max Norton w/Shawn Kyle Max Norton’s second show of his holiday homecoming finds the now Nashville-based singer-songwriter joining his former Beauvilles and Laurel Canyon bandmate, Shawn Kyle, for a set at the Indy in downtown St. Petersburg. These two have put together some of the most memorable sets in recent Bay area rock history, so it’ll be great to watch them reignite the chemistry in a stripped-back setting. (Independent Bar and Café, Tampa) INFO

The Black Honkeys w/Hotel Life/Four Star Riot/Johnny Mile and the Kilometers Billy Summer is all over the live music calendar this week, and this free show at Jannus Live finds him, theoretically, getting paid twice as his new collaborative rock band Hotel Life takes the stage before another one of the bands he plays in, The Black Honkeys, headlines a gig that includes another rowdy Bay area act, Johnny Mile and the Kilometers. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO
