Melody Artisans of the Crooked Thumb — Space Songs For the final 2017 installment of its “Melody Artisans” series, Safety Harbor’s Crooked Thumb Brewery is giving attending songwriters some leeway to do write whatever kind of song the word “space” invokes. “If you want to write another ‘Space Oddity’ type of song, do that,” the prompt says. “If you want to write about living alone in the woods, take it there.” Expect to play your new song plus a couple other originals if you’re planning on performing, and be prepared to just chill out at one of the Bay area’s best places to sip on a beer if you just want to show up and hear the tunes.
