Tampa gets turnt with Ying-Yang Twins & Chingy this Thursday

Thurday's live music lineup is shakin' like a salt shaker.

✔️ Turnt Up Tour w/Ying Yang Twins/Chingy/Petey Pablo/Twista/Bow Wow Religious acts have been pretty good at packing folks into the Sun Dome as of late, and on Thursday the building will lean on a throwback lineup of hip-hop acts to do the same thing. A couple of princes from the heyday of party-ready Dirty South rap top the Turnt Up Tour’s bill, and we’re willing to bet that the crowd will be ready to do a lot of whistlin’, twerkin’ and shakin’ (like a salt shaker) by the time the Ying Yang Twins hit the stage. “Right Thurr” singer Chingy will also be on hand to compliment “Dem Jeans,” after North Carolina crunk-master Petey Pablo asks fans to take their shirts off and wave them around like a helicopter. Now-31-year-old rapper Bow Wow (formerly “Lil’ Bow Wow” — yes you’re that old) rounds out the bill. (Sun Dome Arena at University of South Florida, Tampa) INFO

Florida Orchestra: Inside the Music: Inside Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 If the weekend performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 have you hyped, then add some value to your weekend by joining Florida Orchestra musical director Michael Francis as he combines a talk about the composition with some demos on the day before the shows. SOMETHING BEE-UTIFUL
Can Tampa's Hooch and Hive revive a beleaguered University of Tampa hangout?

✔️ Hooch & Hive Grand Opening w/Crate Bros. You know that bar near Cass Street and North Boulevard that can never seem to decide on a name? This could be its saving grace. The folks behind some of Tampa Bay’s most beloved night haunts (Flytrap, Czar, Zoya) have thrown their weight behind a hangout that will be music-centric and adorned with local art. The menu was designed by Ocean Prime’s Adam Polisei, and one of Tampa’s most beloved cocktail philosophers (Kamran Mir) has brought his love for hooch to Hooch & Hive. Owners have also promised a top-notch sound system (plus plans to book national acts), so it’ll be cool to see the Crate Brothers play selector at the grand opening. (Hooch & Hive, Tampa) INFO
