✔️ A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie w/Don Q/Trap Manny Shortly after its release, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s sophomore album, Hoodie SZN, spent a couple of weeks on top of the Billboard 200 — that’s despite selling less than 1,000 copies in the traditional way (aka physical, downloads). Old-school publications like Rolling Stone seemed to lament the streaming success of the effort, but were forced to once again reckon with with new forces in the market two weeks ago when Mr. Hoodie returned to the No. 1 spot despite selling what was reportedly just 452 traditional copies of the record (streaming equivalent albums put the number of copies sold at 47K). The promising Bronx-bred rapper who broke out in 2016 on the heels of his ARTIST mixtape will face another tough task in trying to fill up The Ritz on a Monday night, but he’ll prove the critics wrong if he can pull it off, and show that streamers actually do go to shows. USF Monday Night Jazz Series w/Mark Taylor/Marvin Stamm Marvin Stamm has worked with Woody Herman, Frank Sinatra, and Benny Goodman, but his legacy may end up being written around the work that he’s done with music students from every corner of the country. The trumpeter, mentor and clinician joins U.S. Army Band album Mark Taylor for this Monday Night Jazz gig at USF. (School of Music Concert Hall at University of South Florida, Tampa) INFO

Michael Glabicki w/Dirk Miller Hey hippies: You’re going to have to wear shoes for this one. Rusted Root’s frontman (Michael Glabicki) and guitarist (Dirk Miller) will rearrange some of the jam band’s songs (plus some of their own) for this stripped-back duo gig where there seriously isn’t a side door you can sneak in through. (David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts,Tampa) INFO

Rock and Soul w/DJ Qeys It’s always good to see recently relocated Tampa DJ Qeys back in town, and it’ll be a treat to hear his selections at this perennially joyous Monday-night dance party inside of the friendliest dive in downtown Tampa. (The Hub, Tampa) INFO
