New Granada Xmas Extravaganza w/Meatwound/Station Cases/Slap of Reality/Nervous Girls For more than two decades, long-running Tampa Bay promoter Keith Ulrey (aka New Granada Presents) has been staging a homegrown Christmas night extravaganza and giving local music lovers a chance to show their relatives some of the best the scene has to offer. Ulrey thinks 2018’s edition is probably the 20th or 21st iteration of the show (there have been off years during the concert’s 25-year existence), but the commitment to celebrating local talent on the holidays has always been the same. This year is no different, and the show at Crowbar finds one of the year’s hardest-working new bands (Nervous Girls) joining old-school punk favorite Slap of Reality, long-running jahcore outfit Station Cases and brutally heavy metal act Meatwound for the festivities. Doors are at 7:30 p.m., so set a timer when you lay down for that post-Christmas meal nap. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

Kushmas IX w/Tom G Crowbar isn’t the only place where a Tampa scene staple is throwing a party on Christmas night. This get-down at Skye just a few doors down is hosted by a Bay area hip-hop icon, Tom G. While there’s no lineup or any firm details, what you can expect is one of the most lit — and well-attended — parties of the year. (Skye, Ybor City) INFO
