Paul Moroz, longtime drummer and fixture on the Tampa Bay original-music scene, has reportedly passed away.

Details are sketchy at this point. Moroz was apparently found in his apartment by his landlord; the exact time of death has not been determined, and an autopsy is pending.

He is probably best known for stints with Will Quinlan & The Pagan Saints and Pink Lincolns, but his roots in the scene run much deeper; he worked with many musicians over the years (including Robert Wegmann and the band The Groovediggers), and will be missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. On a personal note, I spent countless hours behind countless clubs drinking and smoking with Paul, trying to be funnier than he was. It never happened.
