There are two, extremely heavy shows going down in Tampa on Saturday, and they're happening at the unlikeliest of places. See the details below, and share this with a like-minded friend.

Horsewhip LP Release w/Yashira/Reality Asylum/Sentries Heavy, extreme music. For some it’s a badge of honor. For others, it’s pure catharsis. This entire bill is pretty much an exercise in exorcising what ails you inside, and you can read more about that by turning to p. 55 and reading our interview with Tampa hardcore band Horsewhip, which headlines this show in support of its self-titled debut album released a few weeks ago.

8 p.m. $5 donation. American Legion Seminole Post 111, 6918 N. Florida Ave., Tampa. INFO.

WHIPPING BACK
St. Petersburg hardcore band Horsewhip resurrects, reinvents ghosts on debut album

Spit w/Burn to Learn/Guttermuff The Legion in Seminole Heights is booked, so a new generation of powerviolence bands is in action a few miles away in South Tampa. Orlando grindcore band Burn to Learn will collect gas money after Guttermuff plays its first show ever and before Tampa’s own Spit closes it all out.

7 p.m. Bring money for traveling band. VFW 424, 105 W. Broad St., Tampa. INFO.
