Tampa’s instrumental metal (instrumetal?) band Prescribed Fire has three Tampa rock gods on its hands with Kevin Coss of Down by Law on bass, the Tim Version’s Shawn Watkins on drums, and guitarist Christa McHugh who played with The Ood as well as the way-too-short-lived all-female Hall and Oates cover band Maneater. Prescribed Fire’s self-titled 2020 album is available for a listen online if you want to get a preview— the song “Witchie Poo” is straight up modern-day Sabbath.

Saturday’s Safe and Sound, outdoor, Shuffle show will be the trio’s first show since 2019. Local band Mindwash shares the bill.

Prescribed Fire w/Mindwash. Saturday, March 13, 8 p.m. Free. Shuffle, Tampa. INFO
