It’s been five months since Tampa saw Todd Snider fronting Hard Working Americans at Gasparilla Music Festival, and you can expect a full house when the 51-year-old East Nashville songwriter returns to the Bay area for an intimate solo set that’ll showcase his one-of-a-kind oddball showmanship and a songbook that celebrates the underdog each and every chance it gets.

Bonus points since Rorey Carroll (another Nashville songwriter who’s been likened to “Gillian Welch’s long lost, more devilish little sister”) opens this show, which is a benefit for community radio station WMNF 88.5 FM.

Todd Snider w/Rorey Carroll. Fri. Oct. 12, 8 p.m. $20. Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Rd., Tampa. Sold out.
