Sometimes you need a beat to push you through the day. Enter Tampa producers Spon Marcos and Kenosobi, who've teamed up with Bay area clothier Effren Denson for a new beat tape, Gwan Fanatic. The 10-track effort marries the worlds of Gwan Massive and Beat Fanatic for 22 minutes of splashing cymbals, deep synth and glitchy beats.

"Sponatola and I would literally trade the beat pads of Ableton Push, back and forth till we both agreed that a beat was finished," Kenosibi, 34, told CL in a message. About 20 beats were created, but the pair have only released the ones with no samples on them so that they could still collect royalties. To diversify the distribution of the tape, Marcos and Kenosobi teamed up with Denson's company — A Blowfly Joint — and their designer, Sluggo, to help create a look for the release.

He hopes that emcees grab some of the beats, but beat lovers can just hit play and slide through the day. Listen below, and buy the tape on Bandcamp.
