Tennessee country songwriter Josiah Leming plays sold-out show in Ybor City this weekend

You might recognize him from ‘American Idol.’

Parents hoping their kids don’t drop out of high school might not want to tell them about Josiah Leming. The Tennessee songwriter did just that when he was 17 and has spent the last 18 years more or less on the road singing songs.

The 35-year-old is among a contingent of talent that makes good country music, and he’s actually the only non-Top 24 “Idol” contestant that signed a major label record deal.

Endurance, the new album from Leming and his band the Bonnevilles, is a testament to his perseverance, and you’ll be able to feel the years in the live set.

Tickets to see Josiah and the Bonnevilles play Crowbar in Ybor City on Saturday, April 6 are sold-out, but there's a few resold tickets floating around online for upwards of $50. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
