Texas indie-pop band Summer Salt—which parted ways with bassist Phil Baier in 2018 following allegations of sexual misconduct by several women on social media—make an intriguing argument to go out and see it play a weekday concert in Ybor City. The band, which was last played Tampa in 2019, has a sound close to Whitney (the band, not Houston) thanks to dreamy falsettos on top of a sweet, happy-go-lucky-let’s-dance-in-a-field-of-daisies sound.

Plus you’ve got Brooklyn band Covey and Arizona’s Breakup Shoes on the bill, definitely making it a good reason to get off your couch and mask up for a Hump Day show.

Summer Salt w/Covey/Breakup Shoes. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 8 p.m. $19.99-$35. Orpheum, Ybor City. theorpheum.com
