Downtown Tampa’s long-running, no-cover, family and pet-friendly outdoor music series eases into the fall with this show featuring a pair of rock bands including The Boats from St. Petersburg, who spent 10 years creating music before disbanding in the mid-2000s. The quintet’s new album (Single Cell Biography) was released in July, and finds The Boats floating into familiar, anthemic, alt-tock territory. This one starts early (6:30 p.m.), and usually gets you home before 10 p.m., too.
Rock The Park w/The Boats/Photo Fire/Serendipity. Thurs. Sept 6, 6:30 p.m. Free. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N. Ashley Dr., Tampa. local.cltampa.com.
