If you have rhymes to share or just want to check out some local hip-hop action, then Off the Dome is for you. Best of the Bay-winning emcee Jon Ditty (pictured) hosts the weekly open mic at Clearwater’s Ms. Hyde Bar.

This isn’t your average open mic, either. The night boasts “numerous rap games and exercises that seek to improve mental sharpness and cunning on-the-spot” while performing over various mainstream and experimental tracks. There are also three spots available for pre-written performances, first come first serve. And FYI, according to the Facebook event page “Emcees are encouraged NOT to perform over their own vocal recordings because 1. it sounds like sh*t and 2. is wack AF.” So don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Another warning: masks required when not sitting and performers will be provided with disposable microphone covers.

Off the Dome weekly open mic with Jon Ditty, Wednesdays. 9 p.m. Ms. Hyde Bar, Clearwater. INFO
