This Sunday in live music: G-Eazy, Los Pericos, Pray for Orlando Benefit + more

It's Sunday, and there's music happening! Here's a breakdown of highlights for this Sun., July 17...

G-Eazy with Logic, YG, Yo Gotti, Kodak Black Following the success of his second studio LP and major label debut, When it’s Dark Out, producer-turned-rapper G-Eazy takes his hip-hop entourage on the road and lands in Tampa on this night. The Oaklander and Loyola University alum has officially “made it,” producing tracks from his dorm room only a few years ago, now headlining arenas and living at the top of the Billboard charts with tracks like “Me, Myself & I.” G-Eazy’s smooth lyricism will be joined by Def-Jam signee, Logic, the energetic and high-tempo upstart hand-picked to make waves in the hip-hop world. YG, Yo Gotti and Kodak Black round out an evening that proves there’s life after graduation. (MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa) —Josh Kennedy

A New Generation of Jazz Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association presents an afternoon showcase of youthful musicians who represent the area’s future jazz-making generation. Two student/faculty bands perform songs spanning early standards through modern material: first, the USF Jazztet (Zach Bornheimer on saxophone, Andrew Allen on piano, bassist Alejandro Arenas and drummer Dave Rudolph); then a group composed of current and former Pinellas County Schools students, including finalists from the recent Al Downing Jazz Scholarship Competition and the Ruth Eckerd Hall Jazz Band (saxophone players Chase Goggins, Trace Zacur, Kendrick McAllister and Danny Stagnitta, Quin Halpain and Tony Stagnitta on trumpet). (Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg)—Leilani Polk

An Evening with Chaka “Old Florida” meets “Greek Florida” when this group of Tarpon Springs musicians takes the Skipperdome stage. Former high school friends, the talented quartet pursued separate projects before forming Chaka, and it stuck. Now they’re making a career of fusing jazz and funk sounds and bringing their energetic show to audiences around Tampa Bay and beyond. Skipper’s rich history hosting local talent, “Old Florida” style and national headline-grabbing sandwiches should make Chaka’s next pit stop a noteworthy night of entertainment and Florida fun. Los Pericos Argentina’s premier reggae-rock outfit, Los Pericos have been at for nearly 30 years now; they first cracked North America’s musical consciousness when they were featured in an ‘06 episode of Anthony Bourdain’s globetrotting food show No Reservations, and have been building an audience here ever since. Pray For Orlando: Tampa Benefit Show A rather diverse lineup of bands comes together to play for the benefit of OneOrlando, an organization that provides support to the victims of the Pulse tragedy and their families, and ranges from the ambient post-rock soundscapes of Gullwing to the ripping blues rock of Smokestack Lightning. Also performing on this night: Raising Cadence, Second Chances, Red Blue Shift, Molotov District, Krankynstyn, High., and Black Clash. Admission is $10; all ages are welcome. (Brass Mug, Tampa)—LP
