This Sunday in live music: Matt Pond PA, Angel Vivaldi and The Algorithm

Concerts happening this Sun., Oct. 18.

A few noteworthy shows happening this Sun., Oct. 18. Check em below; a look at what else is happening this evening also included.

Matt Pond PA with Laura Stevenson, Completions Matt Pond PA returns to Tampa Bay a mere six months after the last stop in town, though now the namesake indie rock singer-songwriter and his band are officially backing a finely-wrought, expansively textured new 10th album, The State of Gold. Also of note on this night: Completions, the chamber-hued side project of PA’s plucking and bowing cellist Shawn Alpay, who just released a rather lovely eponymous debut EP earlier this month. (New World Brewery, Ybor City)

Angel Vivaldi, The Algorithm with Save Us From The Archon A co-headlining tour showcases the epic technical complexity of two artists with new material to share. Angel Vivaldi crafts instrumental metal driven by his fine and fast guitar shreds, definitely the centerpiece of his propulsive compositions. The Algorithm is the project of French musician/producer Rémi Gallego, who draws on elements of electronic music (hardcore techno, trance, breakbeat, IDM) and progressive metal. (Orpheum, Ybor City)
