A few concerts happening this Sun., Sept. 4.

A quick look at a few noteworthy shows taking place this Sun., Sept. 6... You have the day off tomorrow - go have some fun.

The Mantras A jam rock sextet from Greensboro, N.C., with two drummers, two guitarists and the Umphrey’s McGee seal of approval; recent studio LP Jam Bands Ruined My Life was recorded at the home studio of Um guitarist Jake Cinniger, and he appears on two tracks. Expect vibrant projection lights, extended improvs and setlists that touch on covers like Radiohead’s “Optimistic,” “Lake of Fire” by Meat Puppets, and even Led Zeppelin’s “Fool in the Rain.” (Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin)

Damon’s Duos Blues guitar whiz Damon Fowler collabs with a different artist in each of these “Damon’s Duos” presentations; on this particular Sunday, it’s NOLA-influenced, Florida-based swamp roots songstress Beth McKee. (The Hideaway Café & Recording Studio, St. Petersburg)
