This Sunday in live music: Ol' Dirty Sundays with Deejay Theory, Pity Sex with Petal and PWR BTTM

A few noteworthy shows are happening in Ybor City on this Sun., June 19. Check out the breakdown below.

Pity Sex with Petal, PWR BTTM White Hot Moon – the 2016 sophomore outing from Michigan’s co-ed ‘90s-effected Pity Sex – find the band maintaining the second wave emo sounds of their debut but leaning more heavily on post-grunge distortion and shoe-gazey soundscapes and vocal qualities. Also featured is Pennsylvania-brewed Petal, the rock project of singer-songwriter Kiley Lot plus a rotating cast of friends, and PWR BTTM, Brooklyn’s charming queercore punk-garage-glam duo. (New World Brewery, Ybor City)

Ol' Dirty Sundays with Deejay Theory The next edition of ODS features a San Francisco-based Deejay Theory, credited as leader of the Tropical Bass sound, with his hip hop productions heavy on the reggae music sounds; he’s even been tapped to remix legends of the genre, among them, Beenie Man, Jah Cure, Gappy Ranks, and Barrington Levy. (Crowbar, Ybor City)
