Thursday's 'Roots Azul' concert celebrates sound, culture and community in Tampa Bay

J.J. Pattishall was the recipient of a recent St. Petersburg Arts Alliance grant, and he’s putting that talent to good use by curating Thursday's immersive musical performance and listening experience.

The gig—happening at St. Pete's [email protected]—features him on guitar alongside a seven-piece band of some of the best local jazz players—including trumpeter player James Suggs and saxophonist Jeremy Carter—who collectively seek to shine a light on the musical relevance and multicultural history of the Tampa Bay region.
