Tonight in live music; Al Di Meola at Clearwater's Capitol Theatre

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of 'Elegant Gypsy.'

Al Di Meola It's a skinny night in live music for Tampa Bay (everyone must be worn out from the weekend). Still, that doesn't mean there isn't anything to do. Just ask New Jersey born guitarist Al Di Meola who is in town to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a landmark LP, Elegant Gypsy, where he teamed up with Jan Hammer, Anthony Jackson, Barry Miles Mingo Lewis and Lenny white for an album that's considered by many to be a classic as far as fusion music goes. Di Meola, 62, is one of those talents that fans got to watch grow into his skills, and it'll be interesting to see how Gypsy has grown on the revered jazz player over the decades. Listen to the album below. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO
