Melanie w/Beau Jarred/Eva What’s it like to breakout after a performance at the original Woodstock? Ask Melanie, who’s remained tethered to the flower power she sang about nearly half a century ago. The 70-year-old Astoria songwriter was no stranger to the theme (she cut her teeth in New York’s Greenwich Village scene in the years leading up to Woodstock), and expect her to be in full storyteller mode when she meets longtime fans in Largo tonight.  (Central Park Performing Arts Center, Largo) INFO

Damien Escobar Deep fans know Damien Escobar (and his brother Tourie) from their classical fusion duo Nuttin’ But Stringz and President Barack Obama’s 2009 graduation, but the rest of you know the Emmy-winning violinist from appearances in film (Step Up) and reality television (season three of America’s Got Talent). Escobar, a Juilliard product, has written kid’s books, sold real estate and even worked with UNICEF, so expect some great stories at this solo show. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO

Phonogenics 101: Fifth Dimension Age Of Aquarius Age of Aquarius is the Fifth Dimension’s fourth LP, and it came after they’d already achieved success on the heels of two songs featured in the Broadway musical Hair. The album would catapult them even further into to stardom. Tampa singer-songwriter/activist Jeremy Gloff leads a discussion on the album at this Seminole Heights studio. (Disco Dolls Studio, Tampa) INFO

Dave Decker w/Jeff Brawer/GreyGoose Sandspur City guitar slinger Dave Decker recently let us listen to some unmastered demos from an upcoming EP, and we’ve got our fingers crossed at possibly getting a taste when the revered Tampa punk vet takes to New World Brewery’s acoustic BBQ alongside another CL fave, Jeff Brawer. As always, this show is free to attend, but the big ass plates of smoked BBQ will cost meat eaters $5. (New World Brewery, Ybor City) INFO
