Tonight in live music; LIMBS, Hail the Sun, Wolvhammer and more

Getting heavy on a Tuesday

Hail The Sun w/Eidola Tampa post-hardcore outfit LIMBS is breaking out of the Bay area in a big way thanks to a 30-date run with Chico, California genre heavyweights Hail The Sun. The band will be away from home for a while, but LIMBS has done it it before with Saosin, so don’t expect them to get homesick. Do expect LIMBS to give its hometown some love as they arrive in support of a new three-song EP, Sleep, released in the spring. Read our Q&A with LIMBS here. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

Wolvhammer w/LORE/Grave Ascension/Merciless Scum Rich with Blooduel — the latest from black metal trio Wolvhammer — is a heavy, neck-cracking hybrid of sludge and death metal that will leave you begging for more after its all too short 21-minute run. The music is some of the most brutal stuff you’ll ever hear, but founding drummer Heath Rave is supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the genre, so say what’s up after the show.
