Tonight in live music: The Fray at Ruth Eckerd Hall

You couldn’t escape The Fray back in 2005 when their chart-toppers “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How To Save Your Life” pervaded seemingly every entertainment medium. Almost a decade later, the pop-rock group from Denver has entered a bit of an experimental phase, as evidenced in latest album Helios. The group’s sugary-sweet lyrics remain as catchy as ever but tracks like “Give It Away” find lead singer Issac Slade crooning over disco-inspired guitar chords (complete with cowbell!). Never underestimate The Fray. Oh, Honey (now with a Glee credit on their resume) and Barcelona open the show. 7 p.m., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, $25-$75.

Check out some Fray music after the jump, both new and old...
