If you hadn't noticed, we removed the 'live' from the title of today's edition because, as indicated, not everything featured this Thurs., June 18, is live. Find out more in the round-up below.

Cory Branan with Will Quinlan, Mountain Holler The best way to describe singer-songwriter Cory Branan might be that he’s the guy who influenced all of your favorite, coolest rockin’ alt-country bands. Of course, none of them could copy his inimitable lyrical bent and perspective on storytelling, but Branan’s unique combination of personality and earnestness has inspired everybody from Lucero (who name-check the man in “Tears Don’t Matter Much”) to Two Cow Garage, and his most recent LP The No-Hit Wonder is probably his most rollicking, fun and compelling to date. Toss in sets by a couple of original and extremely talented roots-based locals, and you’ve pretty much got required Thursday-night attendance. (New World Brewery, Ybor City) —Scott Harrell

Throwback Thursdays: Rebelution with Iration Before you get all keyed-up about Rebelution playing a surprise date here on a Thursday night when the Santa Barbara reggae rock band isn’t due in town until August and then as warm-up for Sublime with Rome, let me clarify: this is not a free show at Jannus. This is a free film screening of a show that happened at Jannus. This night marks the kick-off of the new Throwback Thursday series of presentations featuring memorable performances at the venue. The idea being that you can re-live the concert if you were there, or see it in its original environment, kicked back on a folding chair (no coolers, please), if you weren’t. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg)
