Too bad Nick Waterhouse isn't touring with Leon Bridges because "Katchi" is hot s*** — listen

What is "Katchi" though?

If you've been absent, then know that the music section at CL has been fawning over Leon Bridges and his September 14 appearance at Ruth Eckerd Hall for a while now.

Over the weekend, the 27-year-old songwriter gave us another reason to to gush, and he's got a co-conspirator this time around. "Katchi" is a three-and-half minute burner co-written with 30-year-old fellow soul-revivalist Nick Waterhouse written while the two guys were in Forth Worth, Texas getting massages.

CL EVENT CALENDAR: LEON BRIDGES W/ LIANNE LA HAVAS AT RUTH ECKERD HALL 09.14.16

"He was laying on the table while I strummed the chords, bare-chested, he shouted out, ‘She give me KATCHI!,'" Waterhouse recently told FADER. Apparently the term is Bridges' mother’s old Louisiana Indian term for "loving touch."

Waterhouse calls the cut a straight cruiser, and we aren't going to disagree. Listen to it below, and see Leon Bridges at Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall next week on Wednesday September 14. Lianne La Havas opens the show, and more information is available on CL's events calendar.
