Doctor Sung, frontman for Toronto synth-pop group Tupper Ware Remix Party (stylized “TWRP”) says he traveled through space and time to find his bandmates, which makes a lot of sense. The outfit’s futuristic synth-funk is pretty heady, and while lots of the lyrical matter deals in comedy, there’s nothing silly about the seriously good disco-ready dance tunes from a 2018 album, Together Through Time.

The Protomen—who rose to fame after writing concept albums based on “Mega Man”—open the show.
