Umphrey's McGee (UM) is set to play a three-hour set in Tampa as part of WhigFest on February 18, but the Chicago prog-jam outfit wants to take it a step further by releasing its second collaborative beer with Ybor City's Rock Brothers Brewing (RBB).
The limited-edition Dark Brush Imperial Stout is named for a track on the band's forthcoming 11th studio album and is a follow-up to the Nothing Too Fancy Pale Ale UM brewed in collaboration with RBB three years ago. A press release says that the brew will be released at WhigFest and that it "features rich coffee, chocolate with dark cherry and vanilla notes."

"It's rich, complex flavor is a befitting of the new song that shares its name with this rare release," UM manager Kevin Browning wrote in a statement. "This one has been a long time coming and won't be the last special release you see from UM.”
Those bound to a more hermit-esque lifestyle will be glad to know that the beer will be sold exclusively at Rock Brothers Brewing Company via online presales beginning on January 25th through early February. The release says that full details on beer availability and presale information will be available at rockbrothersbrewing.com in the coming week.
