That show was for fans, but Underoath is doing another show at the small Ybor City club on Feb. 16, this time to help a friend of the band whose son is going through a tough time. A GoFundMe for that friend, Tommy Monette, details how the family needs help with medical bills for its kids who's waiting for specialized treatment.
"I just want to help my friend and his kid. I love them and I think together we can save a life," the GoFundMe says.
Tickets to see Underoath, which just released its new album Voyeurist, play Crowbar in Ybor City on Feb. 16 are $30 and go on sale Friday, Feb. 4. Indie-rock favorite Brother Cephus, rapper Notsew and electronic duo Alien House open the show.
All money collected at the door will go to the Monette family, and if you want to pump more money into the effort, King State will host a happy hour at its Tampa Heights cafe from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
Underoath plays a full-blown hometown set next month at Jannus Live, but that one's sold-out.
