Frontman Tanner Jones did a mighty fine job.

What do you say when Billboard contacts you to come into the studio and do a live session?

“Yes,” duh, even if you’ve never played the songs from a new album acoustic like You Blew It!’s Tanner Jones did yesterday. The boys were in New York City where they were set to open for Taking Back Sunday at Irving Plaza. The website reached out to the band’s publicist when they heard the boys would be in town.

“What was wild is I had assumed that it was going to be a filmed session to be used for later,” Jones told CL in a message.

“We had never composed an acoustic version of “Autotheology,” so I had assumed I would have a couple minutes to figure something out. I didn't find out it was going to be live until I sat down.” To make things more nerve racking, Common was waiting in the wings for his session. Jones even said hi to his mom at the end.

“How many times do you get an opportunity like that, y'know?,” he said.

You Blew It!’s new album, Abendrot, sees release via Triple Crown Records in November. Get pre-order info here. Watch the video below.
