Weekly Tune-Up; Thundercat, Jansport J, SYD and Oddisee lead our new music mixtape — stream and download it now

An hour of the best new indie, hip hop and electro.

February is in the house! The month of love. Hopefully the new music releases will grant us the same kinda love that January did last month. This week's Tune-Up is starting us off strong. Let's get to it!

Danish trio CHINAH is back with yet another smooth pop gem titled "Even Love." This time around they take aim with an up-tempo beat that features punchy basslines, subtle synths and Fine Glindvad's melancholic vocals. Chinah is leaning more and more towards a radio-friendly sound, but they still sound pretty damn good in doing so.

I never thought I'd type the names Kenny Loggins or Michael McDonald in Weekly Tune Up. Well, Thunderdcat's new song "Show You The Way" features both '80s soft rock icons (listen above). "Show You The Way" is a shimmering sensual track that oozes '70s soul, and shows that Loggins and McDonald still have it. Thundercat is set to release his star-studded third LP, Drunk, due out Feb. 24th. Can you feel the smoothness of this new song? Take in all that falsetto goodness. "It's your boy, Thundercat."

Canadian singer-songwriter Mac Demarco is loved on the indie-rock scene, and for good reason. The guy puts out well written and produced music, but his approach is a little different this time around. He just released "My Old Man" to the internet yesterday, and it's a lovely neo-psychedelic tune that shows a bit of self-reflecting from Demarco. It posses this warm and fuzzy vibe, but is still very nostalgic. Demarco will release his new album, This Old Dog on May 5th.
