Hard-rock fans always have plenty of options on the Tampa Bay music calendar. Here are a couple of good shows happening over the next week.

Whitechapel w/Dying Fetus/Revocation Whitechapel’s new album, The Valley, feels like a reinvention for the Tennessee deathcore outfit thanks to former Animals As Leaders drummer Navene Koperweis who appeared on the record (the band parted ways with Ben Harclerode in 2017). Koperweis won’t be on tour with Whitechapel at this show, but it looks like Alex Rüdinger (The Faceless, HAARP Machine, Ordinance) is filling in at Jannus Live during this trek where Dying Fetus and Revocation play support. Thurs. May 16. 4:30 p.m.. $25. Jannus Live, St. Petersburg. jannuslive.com.

Famous Last Words w/Dayshell/Awake At Last /At My Mercy/Nevertel/Bear With Us Famous Last Words’ last Bay area show was a support gig with Escape the Fate, but the Michigan-based post-rock band (featuring Tampa resident Evan Foley on guitar) gets to headline at this Tuesday Crowbar show happening in support of a new album, Arizona, which was released on Friday. California post-hardcore band Dayshell opens the show. Tues. May 21. 6 p.m.. $15-$17. Crowbar, Ybor City. crowbarybor.com.
