For years, Skipper's Smokehouse and WMNF Tampa 88.5-FM have teamed up to host birthday celebrations for rock and roll favorites living and dead.

Lennon, Bowie, and Rundgren have all gotten the treatment, and now—two years after his 70th birthday—it’s Petty’s turn.

Among those celebrating Florida’s favorite son at Skipper's in Tampa on Saturday, Oct. 22 are The Vodkanauts, Rebekah Pulley, Huckleberry Family, The Mystery Dates, and Soul Purpose IV, just to name a few.
