Tampa Bay residents will now have a public place to demonstrate their outrage at the president.

St. Petersburg will be one of the 133 cities across the country taking part in the nationwide Impeach Trump event to celebrate the National Day of Action to Defend Democracy.

“Donald Trump's abuses of our communities and country demand action from Congress, which has the responsibility and authority to hold Trump accountable. The next crucial step is an inquiry into whether to draft articles of impeachment," says he press release.

Several progressive political organizations and nonprofits like For Our Future Florida, Progressive Democrats of America, Need to Impeach, and By the People are coming together to organize this event, which will consist of “public readings of impeachment calls from prominent policymakers, and a discussion of the range of abuses and crimes that warrant an immediate impeachment inquiry.”

According to a recent poll by NPR, more Americans now than ever support Trump’s impeachment, but are split in the immediate action needed to move forward with impeachment itself.

The rally starts at 1 p.m., Sat. June 15, at North Straub Park.
