According to the state’s Department of Economic Opportunity, the minimum wage in Florida made a jump from $8.46 to $8.56 an hour on Jan. 1—that only adds up to an extra $200 annually, before tax, for minimum wage workers who work 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year.

If I Brewed the World is teaming up with the Pinellas Democratic Socialists of America to throw the Happy Birthday Minimum Wage! event. Drink some brews and get in on the conversation about the forthcoming 2020 ballot where Florida Amendment 2 might let Floridians vote to raise the minimum wage rate to $15 an hour by 2026.
