Swings, the community-building project that won this year's 10/100/1000 Challenge from Creative Tampa Bay and Creative Loafing, was cited by Fox13 last night in one of its "What's Right with Tampa Bay" segments. The report showed how USF St. Pete entrepreneurial whizzes Reuben Pressman and Hunter Payne are using artful homemade swings to break through social barriers and give people of all ages a chance to have a little unfettered fun. Their project was selected for a $1,000 grant from among more than 80 entries in the 10/100/1000 Challenge; the cash prize was awarded by Creative Tampa Bay, a non-profit group dedicated to spreading the word about the benefits of the creative economy.

Watch the video after the jump. And note the final shot: that ridiculously photogenic little blonde girl who runs to the swing at the end of the segment is Magnolia Bee Bates. She's the daughter of CL's Creative Director Todd Bates.
