During a televised debate hosted by the Hillsborough County branch of the League of Women Voters between District 3 City Council candidates Yolie Capin and Chris Hart, Hart claimed Capin had cheated her customers at her formal bridal shop.  At the time Capin disputed that charge, and days later, Hart apologized, admitting that he had "inadequate information," when he made his claim on the program, which was repeated several times since it's March 11 taping.

But you won't be able to see it any longer on the City of Tampa Television(CTTV) station. That's because Mickey Castor, the President of the Hillsborough County League of Women Voters, said that was what she was advised to do after consulting with Tampa City Attorney Chip Fletcher.

Capin had never requested that the show be taken off the air, but had been insistent that the League and CTTV air a disclaimer before it was repeated informing voters that the the charge made by Hart was false.

Capin originally contacted Castor with the League on Thursday, immediately after Hart apologized for his error.

But after not having the issue redressed by Saturday morning, an outraged Capin contacted City Attorney Chip Fletcher, raising an issue of her integrity having been challenged and not being addressed on the taxypayer funded television station.

"The League of Women Voters was used…where is their integrity," Capin fumed while speaking with CL over the weekend. "The man called me a thief!," she said several times in a short phone conversation.
