It was as if no one shared the inconvenient truth with Kendrick Meek’s supporters, that polls say he doesn’t stand a chance in the upcoming election.

They came out by the hundreds, undeterred by his third-place status, to see him alongside former Vice President Al Gore, the latest of many notable Democrats to campaign on Meek’s behalf.

At the podium, Gore stressed the importance of filling the Senate seat with an environmentally conscious candidate, saying Florida has more at stake than any state when it comes to global warming.
