Two venerable Pinellas nonprofit art centers unveil new exhibits this Friday evening. For At Home With Crafts, Florida Craftsmen has transformed its Klein Family Gallery into a loft-style apartment with a pair of foyers, a patio, living room, bedroom, nursery, dining room and more. Tim Clemmons' architectural plan paired with the interior design capabilities of Robb and Stucky's Scott Mills sets the stage for a huge assortment of pieces that make up the sum of each room, with every item — from switchplates to area rugs to silverware — serving as a unique work of art by Florida artists that include Mary Klein, Dale Lappe, Lenn Neff, Charlie Parker and the students and teachers of Youth Arts Corps. Curated by Creative Clay Executive Director Grace Anne Alfiero, the exhibit is part of Florida Craftsmen's effort to demonstrate that we can, indeed, surround ourselves with the luxury, aesthetics and functionality of art. An opening reception takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Fri., March 16. Dunedin Fine Art Center presents Summa + Magna: DFAC Student/Member Exhibitions, a visual representation of the creativity inspired by classes offered at DFAC. Students and members of the center exhibit paintings, jewelry, pastels, photography, ceramics, stone carving, book arts, enameling and more alongside a variety of pieces by DFAC faculty. The opening reception is held from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri., March 16 ($5 general/free for members).
