Art: Wearable ART and The Alice Project

Tuesday, July 29

Two new end-of-the-summer shows at Dunedin Fine Art Center spotlight the talents of Bay area artists while offering a taste (or feast) of whimsy. The center parlays its highly successful Wearable ART Fashion Show into Wearable ART: The Exhibition, which showcases the inventive clothing and jewelry designs of Jennifer Bewerse, Jason Leigh, Maria Saraceno, Kim Michelle Coakley, emiko oye and Leslie Fry. In The Alice Project: Silent Auction of Works by Viv Ruegger, the Pinellas county artist presents her "Down the Rabbit Hole" series of pieces that are inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. For the next three weeks, visitors are invited to bid on Ruegger's more than 20 giclée prints as part of a silent auction to benefit DFAC. Both exhibits open with a reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tues., July 29. The works are on display through Aug. 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat., 1-4 p.m. Sun., 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin, free admission, 727-298-3322, dfac.org.
