Nine artists run QUAID, the exhibition space adjacent to Tempus Projects that may or may not have borrowed its name from a film actor once married to Meg Ryan. They’re all also members of the Tampa Drawers Sketch Gang, a weekly studio art group that meets at the gallery and is open to anyone who wants to draw and collaborate. What’s more, the group’s unofficial ringleader, Anthony Record, initiated First Fridays Seminole Heights, a monthly neighborhood gallery walk. Thanks to this band of ragtag ne’er-do-wells — I mean, talented emerging artists — who are mostly recent USF graduates, Seminole Heights now feels like a real scene. quaidgallery.com
