Best Cabaret Act

Scott & Patti

The duo’s lounge act stars Matthew McGee as Patti, an Ethel Merman-like stage mom who’s a force to be reckoned with, and Scott Daniel as her son, whose star is on the rise — if his ma doesn’t muck things up for him. Before becoming an Oedipal disaster, Brit-born Daniel danced and sang and acted his way to a membership in Actors Equity and has also become a sought-after director/choreographer and designer for regional and educational theaters across the country. Georgia native McGee (a Best of the Bay winner this year and last) has numerous stage appearances, voice-overs and commercials to his credit and has become a familiar face in the Tampa Bay theater scene. The duo’s show is rife with bon mots, saucy jokes, sequins, tacky hit song parodies, bouffant wigs and “cringe-inducing audience participation.”
